[Prescience]: Knowledge of actions or events before they occur; foresight.* John Travolta in SwordfishWhile flying back from PubCon 2005, I was startled by the content of the DVD I was watching: Swordfish. It seemed down—right prescient, and in some fairly scary ways. For those who have forgotten, John Travolta stars as an amoral freedom fighter for America, a self—confessed terrorist of the terrorists who's mission statement is to "make terrorism so horrific that it's unthinkable to attack Americans."
Maybe Rove is more plagiarist than entrepreneur :—/ Another interesting parallel is that Travolta's character is named Torvalds. Well, look whom else in the computer field has the name Torvalds, an otherwise fairly rare name. Is Big Brother hinting that Open Source proponents aid and abet Big Brother? Or are they the terrorists themselves? Mercs? Here is the full context of the mission statement: (T): Torvalds | (S): Stanley
T: [W]ars cost money.
S: War? Who are we at war with?
T: Any one who impinges on America's freedom...
      Terrorist states, Stanley.
Some one must bring their war to them.
They bomb a church, we bomb 10.
They hijack a plane, we take out an airport.
They execute American tourists, we nuke an entire city.
We make terrorism so horrific that it's unthinkable to attack Americans.
A: And you're doing this why?
T: You're a rich man, Stanley.
[You'll soon be living] The American Dream. And just think:
You'll have done your small part in ensuring America's way of life.
      You're a hero, Stan.
