153.58 days, or 5 months, 3 days 14 hours 2 minutes

An integral part of being a good SEO is being able to track what search engines have what pages of your site in their indices. While I have several — dare I say proprietary? — methods of tracking spider visits, this is one of the most visible to the end-user.

Below I have constructed a continuously-updated score card of how MSN, Yahoo, and Google have indexed the site. All the listed pages were finalized on 24 April 2005. The results may shock you.

All of the states pages are XHTML 1.1 strict, served to good browsers/search engines as application/xml+xhtml and text/html to bad ones — Internet Explorer and Google. All the sports pages are XHTML 1.0 Trans. Google apparently cannot handle the parsing of XHTML 1.1 even in compatibility mode :o
